THE DAY I CHANGED MY HOUSE FOR A COLOURED TRUMPET

The day I changed my house for a coloured trumpet is a piece of micro-theatre that shows the reality of three sisters that are about to be evicted.

Over 30 minutes the audience are to enter in a home, into the lives of Inés, Marta and Julia. They are awaiting eviction – something that could happen at any moment. They are getting everything ready so that when the bailiffs arrive, they will not have to face the further intrusion of having strangers touch their personal belongings. The public is given an active role in the play, they are transformed into neighbours, friends … witnesses of the fate that these three sisters are destined to live out.

It is a show full of poetry and sentiment, that speaks out not only about the invasion of privacy that an eviction entails but takes the audience on an emotional journey from the moments before an eviction is about to take place, involving them intimately in the lives of the central characters, their farewells, memories and confusion. A piece of theatre full of emotions that get the spectator taking part – wrapping up parcels, dancing, laughing, eating and drinking with the actors but above all reflecting on a theme so relevant to many in society today.
